Check Out the Redesigned 2025 Subaru Forester
The Subaru Forester has been a rugged and reliable SUV capable of traversing the highway and the trails for years. But the one thing that's always remained the same is the model's appearance, that is until now. This year, the Forester is being redesigned, and it will no longer have a wagon-style body but instead offer a more standard SUV appearance. The update also brings with it several new upgrades and additions, so if you'd like to find out what they are, continue reading or visit our Bellevue dealership..
Modern Design
This year, the Subaru Forester is fully redesigned. However, the powertrain remains mostly unchanged. The rest of the Forester will see changes, such as new exterior styling and a revised chassis. There will also be other enhancements, such as a new electric power steering rack and a new foot-activated, hands-free power tailgate.
Performance
The new Forester model will still be powered by a 2.5-liter flat-four cylinder that's attached to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and all-wheel drive. Though Snoqualmie and North Bend shoppers find that the engine's output has been slightly altered. Now, the output is 180 horsepower and 178 lbs. of torque. By comparison, last year, the Forester's output was 182 horsepower and 176 lbs.-torque.
Fuel Economy
Although the Forester output has been slightly altered, the model still has the same fuel economy as last year's models. As such, Sammamish drivers will still receive an estimated 26 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. However, in the Sport and Touring trims, these numbers will dip by one mpg in each category.

Ergonomic Interior
Design
With its new redesign comes an altered exterior appearance with a more SUV-like appearance. The appearance change also gives the Forester enhanced ground clearance for better control over rough terrain.
When inside, drivers will appreciate the new panoramic moonroof that adds more light to the cabin. They'll also enjoy a leather-wrapped gear selector and heated-and-ventilated front seats, which can be found in the model's mid-tier trims.
Along with an altered cabin, the new update brought with it changes to the Foresters cargo area. Behind the rear seats, there are 28 cubic feet of space, but with the seats folded, the area expands to an impressive 74.4 cubic feet.
Technology
To accompany the Foresters' appearance changes, Subaru has also added several new technologies. This includes an upgraded STARLINK Multimedia system that runs on a standard dual seven-inch and a new 11.6-inch touchscreen in higher trims. Both monitors will feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but only the larger 11.6-inch screen has wireless functionality. Also, features like an integrated navigation system and a wireless charging pad will also be standard.
Safety
The Forester is designed with light off-roading features - as such, Subaru has installed the SUV with its EyeSight suite of camera-based features to keep you safe on and off the road. Standard safety features include adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Upgrade to a higher trim like the Sport or Touring, and you'll receive more advanced driver-aids such as blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, evasive steering assistance, and a driver monitoring system.
